Curriculum
As we start Term 2 teachers and their classes are looking forward to ensuring sufficient evidence is available to provide students with a true and accurate reflection of their learning by way of report cards. End of Semester report cards will be available for students across our school in Week 10, Term 2. Thank you to Parents and Carers for ensuring students are at school, ready to learn every day to ensure they are given maximum opportunities to show what they can do in preparation.
Junior Secondary News
There was a definite buzz in the air on Monday morning as students made their way back to school. Lots of exciting tales of holiday activities and sleeping in. During Term 2 the students are looking forward to athletics and Broncos competitions. Congratulations to Cameron and Ebony - 2024 School Captains for committing to the Southern Downs Youth Council this year.
PBL update
Our plan is to launch PBL across our school at the beginning of Term 3. We are almost ready to share our matrix and our whole school expectations to ensure all students and staff are in the best place to engage in learning.
At the end of last term we had a fabulous Behaviour Celebration. We may have had to adjust our activities, but the enthusiasm and fun was definitely not reduced.
Kind regards,
Traecy Bartz
From the Support Teacher
Queensland Engagement and Wellbeing Survey
In Term 2, students in Years 4 to 10 will be asked to take part in the Queensland Engagement and Wellbeing (QEW) Survey.
We know that wellbeing and engagement are important parts of your child’s life at school. The QEW Survey is designed to measure how students view their wellbeing and engagement across different topics. The information we get from the survey helps us better understand and support our students.
An information letter will be sent out to parents and carers closer to the time which includes details about the "opting out" process, if required. If you have any questions, please contact the school. More information, including FAQs, can be found on the Education website: (https://qed.qld.gov.au/publications/reports/statistics/schooling/students/queensland-engagement-wellbeing-survey).
